THE O3 COACHES

Keith Wimsett:

After spending 12 years as a graphic designer and art director Keith Wimsett discovered kickboxing. The competitive nature and challenging workouts of the sport appealed to him immediately. In 1998 Keith became a certified kickboxing instructor and began teaching weekly classes at a local gym. Seeing the physical and mental changes happening to his students he decided he wanted to do more. After becoming ACE certified in 2002, Keith quit his job as an art director and dedicated his life to fitness. Since then Keith has used his creativity to develop unique and individualized programs for his clients using a variety of training techniques. He believes that exercise should be challenging and varied. "Stagnation is a killer to any workout program," Keith states, "you have to constantly change and challenge yourself to get results."

Marlena Wimsett:

Marlena Wimsett graduated from the University of Montevallo with a Bach. Degree of Fine Arts. Then, after attending the Red Mountain Institute for the Healing Arts, she took that creativity and integrated it into massage therapy. Her goal for every client is to personalize each session, whether it is for mental stress relief, physical injury relief or a combination of both. Many modalities are used in a seamless pattern of soothing rhythms to ease your physical and mental self to a more balanced state. Marlena believes massage therapy is a great compliment to physical exercise. It soothes muscle fatigue and increases blood flow after your workouts. Appointments are limited, so schedule yours today.

Steve Ledford:

Steve has been helping individuals improve their fitness since 1995 when, acting as a squad leader in the U.S. Army, he was responsible for overseeing the combat fitness of his eight squad members. In addition, he helped three individuals develop a running program to prepare them for the Honolulu Marathon.

Since that time, Steve has studied several different fitness theories, slowly merging different ideas to develop a balanced approach to overall fitness. Steve’s goal with his clients is to develop a body in which muscle groups balance each other so that they may work in unison properly. This includes strength as well as flexibility, balance, and neuromuscular efficiency among others.

While able to work with most client types, including injured client and post-rehab clients, Steve’s specialty is working with athletes to develop exercise programs that maximize performance by pairing proper gym work with proper sport coaching where applicable. Steve’s past and present clients consist of runners, cyclists, skiers, martial artists, and even a polo player, to name a few.

Steve’s personal interests include duathlon racing at competitive levels, earning the Georgia State Duathlon Championship for his age group in 2004. In addition, Steve is an AWSDA Women’s Self Defense instructor and a Level 2 Instructor in Commando Krav Maga, the hand to hand combat system of the Israeli Special Forces.
